Morgan's Grant and Briarbrook

I am proud to release my priorities for the neighbourhoods of Morgan's Grant and Briarbrook in Kanata North after spending time this summer talking at your doorsteps about your future in our community.

You have shared your frustrations and hopes. I have listened and heard you make clear that transit is the top concern and that you want the next Councillor to be a proactive voice for positive change to transform the current system for more reliable service that connects you to the rest of Kanata North and the City more efficiently.

I am pleased to present to you, my neighbours, my vision for transit for Kanata North that so we may work together to design a new system that will operate within our financial means and deliver us better value for our taxes.

The way we move around our Kanata North community is our goal for efficient, effective and safe mobility. Transit and transportation is at the heart of my vision for our future – it is essential to improve our quality of life.

We must be a fully inclusive Kanata North where neighbours, young and old, move around more easily through walkable, liveable and connected spaces relying less on cars, easing the burden on our roads, supporting the environment and creating more job and investment opportunities for our Technology Park and small businesses.

This vision is a call to action for Light Rail Transit much sooner than the planned mid 2030’s supported by enhanced road, cycling, pedestrian and bus rapid transit networks to embolden our community to once again, place people first.

I have also heard from you about public safety, more aggressive traffic calming measures to reduce speeding and sharp turns into streets such as Brady, Klondike and Goward off Old Second Line and March Road.

I will also invest time to proactively support the Morgan's Grant Briarbrook Community Association in efforts for a fenced in dog park and other initiatives to engage neighbours and bring people together.

I welcome your feedback on my priorities for Morgan's Grant and Briarbrook and ask for your support on October 22nd to bring positive change to Kanata North !
